A Few Words from our President
UHHS Celebrates 25 Years of Caring
It's hard to believe that UHHS is 25 years old this year! I fondly remember the humble beginnings of United Home Health Services. Our first office was located in a quaint old house in Plymouth. It was furnished with old desks and garage sale specials. What it lacked in style, it made up for in personality and mission.
The company moved a few times and settled in Canton. Our mission remains constant to this day. The five women that founded the company in 1983 aspired to deliver quality home care services in their community and embrace people with care. Since that time, United has delivered care to thousands of patients and employed hundreds of staff. We have made a positive impact on the community and feel privileged to have been welcomed into so many homes and hearts.
Last year we developed a new companion/caregiver program in order to better serve our patients' needs. This program allows seniors to remain in their own homes safely and independently and has been well-received by the community. The needs vary from transportation to the doctor's office to assistance with personal care and grocery shopping.
UHHS has increased our fundraising efforts in order to provide home care services for the growing number of patients who do not have health insurance. Our Patient Support Fund is also used to provide food, emergency medications, and medical equipment for patients in need. We invite the community to join us in meeting these needs by donating to our patient support fund.
As we reflect on our 25th anniversary, we extend our sincere thanks to all those who have helped make our progress possible. Thank you to our physicians and referral sources for giving us the privilege of caring for your patients and loved ones and for your continued support and trust. Thank you to our wonderful staff who do such an awesome job each and every day. I appreciate all who volunteered their services and expertise to make us what we are today: The Board of Directors, Professional Advisory Committee, Ethics Committee, and sponsors of our Charity Events.
Finally, thank you to all our patients and families that requested our care and remain loyal to United. We appreciate your survey responses, letters of appreciation, and donations. We keep you in our hearts and wish you health and happiness always.
